AUTUMN ACRES - .PDF

I grew up in a desert and moved to a swamp. OK, it isn't really a swamp. But it does get muggy in the summers, and I just cannot seem to get used to muggy. So... every year when the thermometer creeps up and it starts getting sticky outside, I find myself reaching for autumn pieces to fuel some escapism. In case any of you are on team "cool and dry" with me -- I hope this little project softens the wait for cloudy skies and autumn breezes. And... If you're not anxiously waiting for cooler weather, I hope you enjoy stitching this one anyway!

This design comes as a .PDF pattern and features sunflowers, pumpkins, a basket, corn stalks, black birds, acorns, leaves, stars, and tree branches. The text reads, "Autumn Acres."

The design is stitched with shades of green, yellow, black, orange, brown, and gray.

PATTERN DETAILS:

The model was stitched on 14 ct. Vintage Smokey White Aida (Zweigart). The stitch count is 105w x 122h, which stitches up to be about 7 1/2"w x 8 3/4"h on that fabric. The pattern calls for whole stitches only. The model was stitched with floss from DMC, Weeks Dye Works, and Classic Colorworks. DMC floss equivalents are provided for the specialty fibers. The pattern includes both a black/white symbol page as well as a color page, so you can choose to stitch from the format that works best for you.

RECREATE THE LOOK:

Finish Fabric: The black/white gingham is Chelsea's Checks from Henry Glass Fabrics. The SKU is 9700-9.

Cording: I used 5mm jute rope as cording on this piece. It came from a bulk spool at Amazon and is no longer available, but most craft stores have it available. I've seen it in the wedding aisle, near the florals, and near the ribbon.

Bow: I used a 2" Natural Burlap Ribbon from Hobby Lobby for the base bow. The SKU for the ribbon is 809780. I stacked that with a 1.5" Royal Burlap black ribbon from 5th Street Studio on Etsy. The SKU is RG127802. I also used a 3/8" gold grosgrain ribbon for the stacked bow. The gold ribbon is from The Ribbon Boutique (Hobby Lobby) and the SKU is 171595. The button in the centerpiece is a 1" brown button that came out of a bulk button pack from Walmart. The pack is no longer available, so no SKU; sorry!

The materials listed above are unique to this piece. The foundational supplies (the board, glue, batting, etc. ---stuff you can't see) are the same no matter what I am finishing, so I buy those in bulk and keep them on hand. You can see what those materials are on the Tools and Organization page.

One more time, here it is. Hope you enjoy!
