SWEET SUMMER - .PDF

A cool watermelon on a hot summer day is a match made in heaven, and Sweet Summer is here for it!

This design comes as a .PDF pattern and features a bird on some watermelon, a flower, and a star. The text reads, "Sweet Summer."

The design is stitched with shades of green, red, white, black, and yellow.

PATTERN DETAILS:

The model was stitched on 28 ct. Mushroom Lugana (Zweigart). The stitch count is 115w x 47h and the finished design measures approximately 7 3/4"w x 3 1/4"h when stitched on that fabric. The pattern calls for whole stitches only (whole stitches = beginner friendly and Aida friendly!). The model was stitched with threads from DMC and Classic Colorworks. DMC equivalents are provided for the specialty threads. The pattern includes both a black/white symbol page as well as a color page, so you can choose to stitch from the format that works best for you.

RECREATE THE LOOK:

Finish Fabric: The black and white fabric is from the Timber Gnomies line by Shelly Comiskey for Henry Glass. The item SKU is 9270-9. The line is out of print, but at the time of this writing I was able to find online quilt shops that still had some in stock.

Cording: I used 6 lengths of 6 ply DMC floss in shade 3347. I spun the cording with my Kreinik Cording Drill.

Bow: I used a black 1.5 inch wire-edge royal burlap ribbon from www.shop5thstreet.com. The item number is RG127802. The White ribbon is a 3/8" grosgrain ribbon from Ribbon Boutique (Hobby Lobby), and the SKU is 166751.

The materials listed above are unique to this piece. The foundational supplies (the board, glue, batting, etc--stuff you can't see) are the same no matter what I am finishing, so I buy those in bulk and keep them on hand. You can see what those materials are on the Tools and Organization page.

One more time, here it is. Hope you enjoy!
